Lack of Association between Anti-Ribosomal-P Antibody and Chemokines in Neuropsychiatric Syndromes of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

چکیده
Anti-ribosomal P protein antibody (anti-P) in cerebral spinal fluids (CSF) has been reported to associate with NPSLE and IgG anti-P in CSF was suggested to be a useful marker for the diagnosis of neuropsychiatric syndromes of systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE). There is growing evidence that chemokines, such as MCP-1/CCL2 and IP10/CXCL10 are involved in the pathogenesis of NPSLE. To study the relationship between these markers in CSF from patients with NPSLE, we measured the levels of IgG anti-P, MCP-1/CCL2 and IP-10/CXCL10 in the same samples. We found no correlations between the titer of IgG anti-P antibody and IP-10/CXCL10 or MCP-1/CCL2, suggesting that IgG anti-P antibody and chemokine levels might discriminate the different subset of NPSLE symptoms.

Immunogenicity of 23-Valent Pneumococcal Vaccine in Children with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease which is characterized by B-cell abnormality and auto-antibody generation. Since bacterial infections are the most important causes of mortality in these patients, pneumococcal vaccination is recommended for children with SLE. Objective: To investigate humoral immunity and specific-antibody formation in response to a...

Background: Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) can either occur as a primary syndrome or associated with other autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Anticardiolipin antibody (aCL) of IgG and/or IgM isotype in blood, measured by a standardized ELISA is the most acceptable laboratory criteria. APS IgG isotype, particularly IgG2 subclass is more strongly associated ...
متن کاملPathogenesis of Neuropsychiatric Syndromes of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
The pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric syndromes of systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is multifactorial and can involve various inflammatory cytokines, autoantibodies such as anti-neuronal antibodies, anti-ribosomal P antibodies, anti-NR2 glutamate receptor binding antibodies, anti-Sm antibodies, anti-U1-RNP antibodies and anti-phospholipid antibodies, and immune complexes (IC). Disruption of ...
متن کاملThe role of measurement of serum autoantibodies in prediction of pediatric neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus
UNLABELLED Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is one of the most difficult manifestations of lupus to diagnose. Measurement of serum brain antibodies has contributed to early diagnosis and management of NPSLE before development of a debilitating disease. We aimed to assess the value of serum anti-ganglioside M1 antibodies in prediction of NPSLE, in comparison to other antibod...

Background: Considering the role of Duffy antigenic system expression on RBCs as chemokines for inflammatory cytokines, expression of Duffy antigens as different phenotypes was studied in a group of patients with SLE. The association between different phenotypes of Duffy antigens and occurrence of SLE and its severity was assessed. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 100 pa...
